There is much in the news about comments that Obama made seven years ago - and recently.

With respect to the comments made in ‘01; What are people’s thoughts? Are they being taken out context? Are they a valid concern for people whole do not agree with the “wealth distribution” philosophy?

Thoughts? I am curious what people are thinking; preferably from both sides of opinion.

For what it is worth - I do not agree with said philosophy (be it personal or corporate); however I do not want to form an opinion on the latest “news” based purely on headlines or how the “news” is reporting it because it seems to be very polarized.

I find it rather unfair and offensive that Obama wishes to give MY money ,i work my tail off for to people who haven’t worked as hard as me . just to “make it fair”.

to me that is anything but fair.  I can only speak for myself, but “spreading the wealth” as Obama put it, with the GOVERNMENT in charge of the spreading, is Marxism. I’m opposed to Marxsm in America.

Have you ever heard of working harder? Getting more education so that you can get a higher paying job?

it’s true that about 10 or 11% of the middle class HAS disappeared from the middle class…BUT…that same 11% has reappeared in the upper-class.
it’s my goal to continue and upward momentum, and eventually be there . for the first time I’ve actually been IN what would be considered lower middle class and no longer below the poverty line. and it has been a long uphill battle.
although i’m not opposed to charity when people really need it.
I’ll be the first one to step up and give someone a hand to try to help them out of their rutt and maybe assist them in making themselves better .
but at the same time I refuse to be taken advantage of…. Charity . should come  first and foremost from individuals , charities/ private orgs /and Churches .

the Government does a horrid job of figuring out where tax money should go as is .. and the welfare system is nothing more then a crutch too many people are relying on for far too long . instead of using it to…. to help while they work to find work..

it has lost it’s shame .
people SHOULD be embarrassed for taking a hand out like that.
people SHOULD never want that for there children .not encourage  surflike welfare generations .

and although it may come in hand in a limited emergency the system is not one of upward momention it’s one that created a stagnant and “entitled” society..

confusing rights and wants ..

it’s your right to have equal opportunity. but . if you want to be a CEO you have to work for it.

you can’t suddenly make a CEO’s salary , but not earn it.

same thing with houses maybe a better example.

it is your right to work towards earning a home , by proving you have a good job and good credit.
it is NOT a right that the bank just GIVE you a loan , exspcally if you have bad credit, or just  because your a certain ethnicity…

this is what it comes down too.

All men are CREATED equal..

all men are not simply  EQUAL…

everyone has an equal opportunity. it’s what you do with those opportunities that will decide your destiny.

look i know this is going to turn into a Glenn/ right wing media bashing ( we only have 1 news  network , and talk radio ya’ll have everything else….)
