Update: kitten died Tuesady May 23rd, she had a seziure in the morning and never stabalized she passed around noon.

I’m still goign to pay for her sugery and shots .. but ther going to help her from there.

ok this is the kitty story:

i’ve had a fairly emotional day..

it started like this :11:30am:
my friends found a “injured kitten” by one of our schools buildings .and i got called in to “help”becuse i’m that animal lady…anyway.. i can’t drop her off at the HS like they wanted me too. becuse our HS can’t except starys … the twins or i should say beth who found the kitty, has no car and a no pets apartment…I drove down town to help as soon as they asked me too. .. and her is how it whent…

12:00pm:

first i get bit..

then i take kitten to my vet(chatham animal and bird clinic) but no vet was there ;i havn’t even really looked in the box yet.after my slightly painfull “hello”….

12:15pm:
so i go to the HS to get the opinion of the vet tech.

to see if it is( in my hopes) just a sprain. and something tha can be treated ..the tech got a better look at mal mooded kitty..she said had a deformed rear leg, and a bad temper…… weighing optoions the tech advised that shes not adoptable at least not at the HS. and suggestion was euth..

i wouldn’t take her ot AC they still gas. and the last thing this little animal needed was to be tossed in when ever they did the next group and possibly get trampled to death before they suffocated her.

12:30pm

“shes at coastal animal care till a real vet has time to look at her and make a judgment .. ”

if ther is anything i can do i will,, but money is an issue . and durring her first go-over she seems to show signs of limited rectal and blader control which the tech said wasn’t normal. and noted possible nerve or nurological damage…… because :”she pooped when picked up”..

12:50pm:

so i took her to coastal on this sad thought

that at least a shot of sodium benobarbritol….. was quick and painless they literally fall asleep then stop living.. but it’s more humane.. so with a heavy heart having been told she was malformed and unstable i dropped her at coastal and signed the papers but asked that she be re-examined by the vet just in case ther was a mis-diagnosis by the vet tech…

but i’m paying for a second opinion before they help her over the bridge , although prognosis at this point isn’t good .. and i know i can’t afford surgery for stray….. ( assuming the leg needed to be amputated)so i’m moping today knowing that mostlikly i just killed a cat. i hate that , cats seem to come to me to die. that will be the second cat that ended up with me and had a dire out look that lasty one was advanced distemper. and the kindest thing was to help it along .

i’m so sad …………

2:30pm:

Coastal calls…

the vet says , and in a sense i’m elated at this . that she took the liberty of x-raying the kitten and the good news is it’s a “simple” ( meaning it’s not a deformity with nervedamage) compound frature.they projected 150-200$ for setting the leg and allowing it to heal …i figure this will cost about 300$ total.. but i really won’t know till ther done..the other $100 is between shots and a spay (becuse we have to many kittens and it’s healthier) . .. once she has her shots is spayed and her leg is fixed i’ll most likly put her up for adoption although i’ll be looking for a rescue to help .. if i can get her into a more cat knollegable foster home i’d like that..
