You Know You’re From Upstate New York When…

You refer to downtown Albany as “The City.”“Vacation” means going to Lake Ontario or Niagra for the weekend.

There is a mini-mall every 1/4 mile, if not, you are in Vermont.

There are 7 empty cars running in the parking lot at the Hannaford at any given time.

You know to avoid tractor trailers (or cars for that matter!) on the Northway with Canadian plates.

You don’t consider what Domino’s or Pizza Hut sell as pizza.

You know that “First Night” isn’t a Sean Connery movie.

There is no such thing as waiting for the left turn arrow at an intersection.

Your career ambition is to work for NY State.

Even with the slightest threat of snow, you know that Ichobob Crane schools are closed.

You think everyone from down-state has an accent.

Down-State starts just south of the Thruway.

You’re in line to get the first custard cone when summer comes.

You actually get these jokes and pass them on to other friends from Upstate NY.

yes Ichobob Crane schools really do close if there is a hint of snow..

and after reading the city one the only thing that applys diffrent for my true area is we say the city we mean Manhattan. we say the capital for Albany. because I acctully know the capital of NYS

ok so it’s been a rough past few weeks but we are starting to get back to normal…

terry or 241 view has a bad habbit of bounceing paychecks so we have been set back about a month. i just got caught up on my bills that were due at the begining of the month.
oh and when he gave us the 350$ (20$ short of what he owed me due to bank fees acquired from the bounced checks . or the NSF checks ..ifyou want to be technical.

any way i watched him get out of his little green BRAVEDA and take his cell phone and dial out as he was getting out of the car so he could be on the phone when he got to our apartment. i know this tactic it’s the same one i use if i really don’t want to talk to someone. normally it is used when you get a bum down town or something . and you need a quick get away.
usingit to skirt responsibility is not cool. saying you will be their in 20minutes and showing up 3 hours latter is not cool. not getting your emplyees time sheets or federal tax forms is not cool. having to hunt down your boss is not cool.
i have no respect for this man. he stills owes matt for hours he worked and me 20$

#2 matthew is a depressed. i hate it when he gets like this . because of the lack of a tech job he blames himself . is getting it in his head he is no good… which is sad . he is working though. even if it’s just oil changes for right now what we need is steady paychecks.

but a good friend gave the best advice on this matter.. :

” He shouldn’t let it discourage him, and going back to school is always a
good idea. There are many of us that are not working in our regular field
right now, because the market is so saturated and salaries have dropped so
much. In this economy, he should just be glad he has a job—many don’t.Just keep doing what you are doing supporting him and letting him know that
this won’t last forever. He is very talented, and this recession has got to
end eventually, putting us all back where we should be.”
