so i when a ahead and checked out my free credit report thingy last night.
so it sucks
and they have this nifty timeline
what annoyes me the most is it’s Green and happy FOR YEARS , then it goes to hell, about may of last year .. about the time when everything else whent to hell. and i moved to this god forsaken state .
an exsplination of my now shitty credit…
being a resourcfull individual I even worked part time at Best buy while in school…
I made a little money over what i got from student loans so rent was covered and basic nesecities.
in 2005 i was attacked by 2 German Sheppard’s , my dog and i were injured and the attacks resulted in 2 ER visits ,one from the initial attack and one a few weeks latter when the anti-bionic dosage wasn’t long enough and i was at the beginning of blood poisoning while at work , and had 3 Army trained medics recommend I go to the ER.
the women who owned the dogs , refused to pay the medical expenses after saying she would which resulted in a 2 year lawsuit ending in a settlement.
in the mean time . i was on pretty much a fixed income . i had already used part of my student loans to pay the first round of medical bills and the second send me to collections becuse i simply didn’t have the money. remember , student loan disbursements even if your work a few hours a week at min wage , really don’t cut it if you need to spend significantly more then you ake to pay suprise medical bills .
I stopped working my Senior year in SCAD in order to concentrate fully on my studies and start applying for job out west ..
or consider my next path..I eventually decided i wanted to continue learning Houdini .
So I applied and was accepted to Vancouver Film schools Certification Program.
I loved it there sure their were issues , like the crazy Internet lady who lied to me for 3 months saying i could sublet from her then , while being sweet to my face bashed me hard on some top secret message board … and when called out. Slammed me hard .. that was real mature. .. eventually with less and then a month left to find housing , I was able to get a room in Burnaby, overall i loved Vancouver, till I found out that Sallie mes career training loans are different then the other student loans and they expect you to send payment immediately…. even though i had not and would not receive my disbursement check for almost another month and a half.
I finnished up school in october managing to fly home for a week in Augest to finalize some of my wedding plans for the coming April.
When i got back to Atlanta , I started looking for work locally , Matt had not had much luck finding steady employment either. I took a tour of R!OT, they had internships opening in April. But that was no good in November.. I kept it in mind.. in the mean time I worked at circuit City. Doing photoshop on the side.
In March, I got a call from Side effects, I had applied for an internship at the home of Houdini, the software company that makes it. Who i received my Certification threw.
On the Phone I was told , after a 2 hour interview , come out at any time and you can start. I offered to fly out immediately. I Was told to wait till after my wedding and I could start.
so. thinking , I had a sold job , the same week the same happened to Matthew ,. company called , gave 3 2 hour phone interviews , then told him they needed him he was ghired start as soon as you get there.
So we focused on wedding plans only weeks away . Getting the house packed and budgeting for the move I sold most of my stuff and my car , put the student loan on forbearance till i had a real job which was hopefully only a few short months away . We found a place we could afford in Los Angeles that excepted pets .
Got married April 14th 2007, and were loaded up and moved out, April 17th of 2007.
we moved into our Studio on the 23rd of April. It wasn’t the best but it was something . Mom had paid 1600.00 to hold and the first months and last months rent.
At first it was ok.. we got settled and after about 3 days called our employers who on the road had told us to come ahead now that we were in LA though things changed they both told us that we needed to come in for another round of interviews…… that concerned us greatly .we had just spent every thing we had and my savings was only going to keep us afloat for another month at best and there was no way we could afford to pack everything up and move home with out throwing everything out. Or selling the car .
Both jobs “fell thru” my wasa soft let go.. “oh maybe next month” Matts interviewer apparently never read his resume . And we didn’t speak “LA bullshit” at the time . So didn’t realize we were bing lead on.
I ended up doing , tutoring around 100 wk. Then
got a contract doing some editing..
that lasted as long as 3 weeks then the lack of planning on his part and communication barrier finally took it’s toll. And i left..
the next gig, was for an Avid intern . I figured i liked editing and maybe Houdini wasn’t my calling.
What the add should have been calling for was .
Gullible naive College Grade needed to work along in small office with a pervert for Full time (36+ hours) Slave labor to be paid $100.00 wk , while doing all the office duties , Internet marketing , all the editing, and taking sexual and emotion abuse , and passive aggressive threats of blackballing to keep you in line ..

Did Not receive payment. At this point I just wanted to get out of there.

July 30th David had a meeting with a big Client.
And this was the day he masturbated in the same room after repeated protests that I did not feel comfortable.
was told not to say anything to Matthew .
Stockholm Syndrome ? started to set in. I was so desperate for even that stipend Matts hours had waned we weren’t making any money I hated having to keep asking family for help i was being degreed daily.. and didn’t know what to do.
July 31st came in at 11.. i had stewed in disgust the whole night. but was torn between abandoning a show which honestly you do not do (and i liked the people on the show, there were so sweet and seemed to genuinely believe what they were filming, although they had no idea what a sleeze ball David was.)

Dave told me “you have to do this to get any where” kept being strung along,
keep being told new contract was coming.
I also had no idea of the law at this time and keep being reinforced that i was an intern this is normal..

he had been telling Mick and Don from the shoot I was staff the entire time, in front of me .he had gotten my Soc # and I kept waiting on my paperwork patiently .
He would talk me up on the phone sell my abilities
Then intimidate me into staying saying interns don’t get paid normally he was doing me a favor .

told David I could not make rent I needed to ajust hours to take a second job
he gave me a hard time threatened to fire me talked down to me made me feel small. Said he had people lined up begging to work for him. So I dropped it .

he asked me to get him a pirated copy of Houdini… I am Houdini certified I told him I was friends with the people at Side effects and I would loose my cert . he insisted . trying to rationalize it.. I gave him the license price guide from the side effects web site he got Mad went off on how he had been using Pirated copies of software for years .

I insisted their is a difference between a Student learning how to use the software while at college and using it to make money…he got Mad…said he go pirate it himSelf.. his download site of choice is oink

had never received a contract/W2/1090. Anything…. wanted to know my work status . Dave skirted and danced around all questions for the day..
He claimed I didn’t need paper work or a contract. i had given him my Social upon request . he had my info.. at his point i didn’t feel safe he never furnished me with any tax info . I had told him repeatedly I need to take a second job/ he threatened me with black balling ,
started saying things like i was lazy and i was taking days off and leaving early ,
talking down to me again, making slights at my husband .
Augest 20th
turned in keysto Candy the floor manager .sick of abuse.
Got a phone call from him latter in the day . Wanting to “be friends”
augest 22nd sent in paper work to the employment regulators .was so stressed filling out the paperwork.

recalculated with calculator is 203.5 conservatively.
This is taking out for lunch and not including overtime which accounts for 3.5 hours of over time.
$1131.86 owed at min wage . Ended up missing court date in January Grandmother passed away same week. I Spread to thin to care at that point..
on September 4th i got my current job. For all the crazy hours and insanity I LOVE my job.
That being said i consolidated all my credit cards in late September early October..
in October 23rd out lease was up at the other place .
Because we had no intention of staying their past October 15th. I figured we paid last months rent the first month I wasn’t paying October since it had already been paid and no one in the building ever gets ther security deposit back any way. And after the hell we whet thru with a horrid manager who was having parties every night of their week till 3 am and allowed his friend free access to the whole building to vandalize cars thew up on our car , entered out apartment with out making note fist , putting me in a place that i no longer felt safe living their . That i had to set up a camcorder to moniter all actives coming in and out or door. Not to mention the parking tickets on that street and the illegals literally pissing everywhere .
We ended up homeless for about a week. But it was better then wasting another months rent in that abusing hell hole. It wasn’t that i didn’t have money i had finally got my settlement for the dog bite. We used that to get settled in our new place that is you read the last post . Turns out we got screwed yet again.
It just seems no matter what you do. You can not get a head out here. No matter how hard youtry , I was so happy i was finally caught up on every thing , that things were going well. I took in a foster because of it.
Now this slap in the face .
